At the heart of our work are the Buddhist principles of altruism, joy and compassion. The Buddhist teachings have awakened in us the importance of cultivating compassion and kindness in our minds, our lives and in our actions for the benefit of others. Because of the deeper meaning and purpose these values have given our life, we support programs that spread the experience of the Buddhist teachings to others.

Rigpa is one such organization that is close to our heart. Our own interest began at the local Rigpa Boulder Center many years back. Rigpa is a Tibetan word that generally translates as ‘awareness, intelligence or the innermost nature of mind.’ Under the spiritual direction of Sogyal Rinpoche, author of the highly acclaimed Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Rigpa aims to present the Buddhist tradition of Tibet in a way that is both completely authentic, and as relevant as possible to the lives and needs of modern men and women.

Programs include a volunteer-supported International Study & Practice Program, an online Distance Learning Program, and a Spiritual Care Program for healthcare professionals working with the dying.
